Why experiences are better than gold?

One year ago I started getting interested in happiness and because no body that was very close to me has spoken to me about it I had a lot to read and learn about happiness.

This subject is not new , the philosophers Aristotle 338BC , Plato 428 BC have written about it studies and taught it in their schools,  studied it and build the foundation of happiness or Eudamonia as they called.

Although to clarify the philosopher meant a sense of leaving a virtuous life, not in the sense that the media are selling to us today having the fastest car, having the thiner body, the big house, smoothest hair, millions in investment. 
They recognised that leading a virtuos life it can be hard, people might find it easier to lye and cheat than to be virtuous all the time and they recognise and feels lucky if you are free from trouble and pain. When they saw somebody poor or not very clever that thought that was unlucky rather than Loser or Stupid like we say today. They recognised that the way we turn out depends very much on our genes, on the family we were raised, the society we grew into and they had a compassion for the unfortunate as they called them.

Now the happiness formula has been sold to us by media and we feel in a bit a tight spot when our real need are not fulfilled by what is being sold out side.

On asking people in their 40s what do they remember from the years done by the majority remember events , like graduating, holidays with friends, day in the spa with friends, meeting their close friend for coffee and yet you spend most of the money of "stuff"
Seeing the sales going on and the shops full of women makes sad and inspired me to write the article today. I bet that if I were to ask people do they actually need the 7th bag, the 20pair of shoes they will say "NO" and yet the urge to go and buy something is so great and difficult to control in our scarce brain.
News- our brain developed for survival and developed in scarcity now we are in abundance and we need to learn more about what drive us towards our choices and how to make better ones to be happy.

On study done by nurse on people on their last days of life the things that they remember more are the moments that they spend with the loved ones, with friends , the trips that they took and the contribution that they had towards other.
To contribute towards other we need to be happy , healthy and fulfilled our selves .

Good news if your don't know where to start start with your health and what a great way to do that than to be with other likeminded people that wants to be healthy.



The best way to get to the next level in everything you want is to merge with people that are doing it every day what ever you want to do.
I started exercising as the colleague that I was working with for 2months was exercising daily and her life  inspired me to take the leap and change my lifestyle.

If you want convincing that exercise is good to treat depression, anxiety, loneliness, stress, raised immunity, increase happiness, confidence and self-esteem than google it and find-out or go to PUBMED where medical doctors like me read and publish articles.
